The Washington landscape is littered with the carcasses of Washington Operators and lobbyists, who often end up in jail. But none is as venal and greedy as George Corbin, the villain in The Washington Operator, a fast-moving political thriller. Corbin works with China to implement a plot to take over Middle Eastern oil, utilizing Iran as a puppet. While investigating the murder of a university student, Kelly Cameron, a rising star in the FBI, learns of this plot.

Kelly gains assistance from Ester, a Mossad agent who has a long-time love affair with a high ranking Iranian official. Together, they launch a daring plan to thwart the Chinese and to bring down the powerful, corrupt, and immoral Washington operator, Corbin. For more information on Mr. Topol books go to http://www.allantopol.com/ or go to amazon.com to order The Washington Operator.

Our first guest today is  Donald Greco, Author. Mr. Greco  has completed four of the five stories in his masterful series called The Youngstown Quintet. His latest book The Malandrine he will be discussing today.

The last, yet untitled, novel of the Quintet will be published within two years.  Greco’s stories are not the kinds of novels that are currently in vogue.  There are no spies, vampires, zombies, space aliens, super beings, or bodice rippers.  Instead, the Quintet consists of unrelated stories that are about ordinary people who lead extraordinary lives.  His readers are drawn into the stories by his wonderful characters and find themselves transported into the world in which the stories exist, all of them in Youngstown, Ohio, in various times of the 20th century.  And yet the pages seem to turn quickly as the characters lead each other through the novels.  His natural writing style is strong yet unadorned and an easy read.  And his characters come to life in the readers’ imaginations, sometimes seeming to jump off the pages as each story unwinds.  And finally, there are realistic and enchanting love stories that form the backbone of each of the novels in the Quintet. All four current novels of the Youngstown Quintet are available, both in book form and as Kindle editions, from Amazon.  Search them on Amazon by “Donald Greco” or “The Youngstown Quintet.”

Our first guest Seema Verma, Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will discuss the Health and Human Services or HHS Advances Payment Model to lower drug costs for patients. The International Pricing Index (IPI) Model would lower costs for physician-administered drugs by resetting Medicare payments based on international prices and introducing competition. President Trump proposed on Thursday that Medicare pay for certain prescription drugs based on the prices paid in other advanced industrial countries — a huge change that would save money for the government and for millions of Medicare beneficiaries.

Our second guest is Papatya Tankut the Vice President of Pharmacy Affairs for CVS Health. She will discuss  the recent CVS Health survey reveals that one in five (22 percent) of consumers surveyed who didn’t get a flu vaccine last year, say that knowledge of last year’s flu season, which had flu levels that were the highest observed since 2009, makes them more likely to get vaccinated this year.  Tankut is responsible for engaging with nonprofit, governmental and health-based organizations to expand CVS Health’s efforts to improve and enhance pharmacy care.
